Tremron Kitchen Remodeling: The Orange County Owner’s Guide
We install and service Tremron kitchen surfaces across Orange County, and a full kitchen remodel in this market typically runs $14,000 – $45,000 depending on cabinet count, countertop square footage, and how much structural work the job requires. Most Orange County homeowners call us when they notice a single failed element: a cracked Tremron edge profile, a separated seam, or a substrate that’s begun to swell behind the surface. We’ll walk you through what failed, what it costs, and whether the fix is isolated or part of a larger replacement.
Tremron makes its name in pavers and hardscape, and when those products show up in Orange County kitchens, they’re usually used as decorative insets, island bases, or accent panels rather than primary food-prep surfaces. That’s an important distinction. A Tremron paver used as a kitchen island footing has different failure points than a Cambria or Silestone countertop, and the repair approach is different too. We stock repair materials for all three brands on our trucks.
As independent contractors, we’re not affiliated with Tremron. We’re Bradford Remodeling Co Orange County, and we’ve been repairing and remodeling kitchens with Tremron components throughout Orange County long enough to know exactly where these materials succeed and where they fail.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron’s kitchen applications in Orange County typically involve three product lines: the Bullnose paver series used as island bases and toe-kick returns, the Holland and Olde Towne pavers cut down as accent bands and backsplash insets, and the slab-style wall units that occasionally appear as range surrounds. Each has a specific installation tolerance. If you can safely access the back of the paver or the underside of the island, look for the Tremron stamp, usually pressed into the face or embossed on the underside with a batch code, number, and sometimes the manufacturing city.
The compatibility gotcha most Orange County owners miss: Tremron pavers are produced in different regional blends, and color matching a five-year-old paver from the Ontario plant against a current run from the Sacramento plant rarely works. We photograph the paver, get the batch code, and match back to the closest current production before we quote. When an exact match isn’t available, we tell you that before any work starts and give the price for a full resurface path so you can make a call with real numbers in hand.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Tremron specifically: there’s no “aftermarket equivalent” for a failed Tremron paver. It’s either a matched Tremron unit or a different product that changes the look. That’s the honest answer, and it’s the one we give on every Orange County walkthrough. For adjacent parts like thinset, waterproofing membrane, and grout, we use Ardex, Laticrete, and Schluter products as standard. Those we keep stocked.

Signs Your Tremron Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Hairline cracks running through the paver face. Almost always a substrate movement issue, not a paver defect. Orange County’s clay-heavy soils expand and contract with seasonal moisture, and a slab or subfloor that shifts transmits that movement straight up through the paver. The Tremron unit itself rarely cracks first.
- Grout crumbling at island-base joints. This signals lateral movement or failed thinset bond behind the paver. Left alone, the paver loosens, then water gets behind it, and then you’re not looking at a grout repair, you’re looking at a rebuild.
- Water staining on the cabinet face below the Tremron surface. That’s a failed seam or cracked grout line letting water track down behind the installation. By the time Orange County homeowners see the stain, the cabinet substrate has usually been wet for weeks.
- A hollow sound when you tap the paver. A properly bonded Tremron unit sounds dense and solid. A hollow drum sound means the thinset has delaminated from the back of the paver or from the substrate. That paver is no longer bonded and will eventually move.
- Edge chipping along the island perimeter. This is impact wear, not substrate failure, but the fix matters. Exposed aggregate on a Bullnose paver edge will keep chipping unless the edge is properly profiled and sealed. Touch-up grout won’t hold.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

The full kitchen remodel range in Orange County is $14,000 – $45,000, with partial Tremron repairs landing well below that when the failure is isolated. A single paver replacement on an island base typically runs $300 – $800 installed, including color match, removal of the failed unit, substrate prep, thinset, and grout. A full island base rebuild with new Tremron units, waterproofing, and edge profiling runs $3,000 – $10,000 depending on the island footprint and whether we’re matching existing cabinetry or replacing it.
What drives the wider project number: cabinet count and whether we’re installing KraftMaid or Wellborn, countertop square footage, whether the substrate needs replacement, and whether the job requires plumbing or electrical rough-in changes. Every quote from us is a written price before any work starts. No numbers that move at the door, no change orders you didn’t approve in writing. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the entire job: if any part of that Tremron repair or remodel fails within one year, we return and correct it at no charge. That’s what The Garrison Standard requires, and we put it in writing every time.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do this: photograph the failed paver, get the batch code if it’s visible, and check whether the surrounding grout is loose or the cabinet below shows water staining. That information helps us quote faster and more accurately. What you shouldn’t do is pry out a Tremron paver on your own. Removing a bonded paver on an island base without the right tools often cracks the neighboring units, and if the substrate behind it has failed, you’ve now opened a hole you can’t close properly without the right setting materials and waterproofing. The repair cost goes up, not down.
If it’s a paver on an island, a backsplash inset, or a range surround, call (562) 262-2907 and we’ll get a live person on the phone, walk through what you’re seeing, and schedule the walkthrough. Straight number, clear scope, no surprises at final invoice.
FAQs

A properly installed Tremron island base or accent band should hold for 15 – 25 years in this climate, provided the substrate stays stable and the grout lines are sealed every few years. The limiting factor in Orange County isn’t the paver itself, it’s the soil movement and occasional salt-air exposure near the coast, both of which accelerate grout and bond failure. Call (562) 262-2907 for a free inspection and an exact quote.
Not reliably. Once a Tremron paver face cracks through, no epoxy or grout fill will restore its structural integrity or hold long-term in a high-traffic island application. The correct fix is replacement of the unit and addressing the substrate cause, which we quote as a written price before work starts.
Most single-paver replacements take one day on site, plus thinset cure time and grout. A full island base rebuild with new Tremron units, waterproofing, and edge work typically runs 3 – 5 working days depending on the island size and whether cabinets need adjustment. We schedule the work window in writing before we start.
We stock common Bullnose and Holland series units on our trucks, and we source matched Tremron pavers from regional supply yards for larger jobs and batch-specific color matches. We verify availability and price before the job is quoted, so there’s no surprise when the crew shows up.
