ES Windows Driveway & Pavers: The Orange County Owner’s Guide

If you have ES Windows products tied into a driveway or paver hardscape and something’s failed, we stock compatible replacement parts for most ES Windows series and can usually have the work priced and scheduled within the week. Typical installed costs for driveway and paver repair work in Orange County run $250 – $18,000 depending on whether you’re sealing, resetting a section, or replacing the whole surface. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a paver shifts under a car tire, a drain channel pulls away from the window track, or water starts pooling against the foundation after rain.

We’re an independent contractor in Orange County. We’re not affiliated with ES Windows, but we install and service their products alongside hardscape work because that’s where the failures show up first.

Which ES Windows Models This Applies To

ES Windows makes several product lines used in Orange County homes, and the driveway or paver interface matters most with two: the ES 9000 series (aluminum frame, common in mid-century and 1980s Anaheim Hills, Fullerton, and Garden Grove homes) and the ES Vinyl 7000 series (more common in newer tract builds across Irvine, Lake Forest, and Mission Viejo). Both series use a bottom track or threshold assembly that sits close to exterior grade. When a paver driveway settles or heaves, the first thing that binds is that lower track.

To identify what you have, look at the inside corner of the window frame for a serial sticker. ES stamps the series number there: 7000, 8000, or 9000. If the sticker’s gone, measure the visible glass-to-frame width. ES 9000 tracks are 1-3/4 inches deep. ES 7000 tracks run 1-1/2 inches. That measurement tells us which replacement threshold, drain channel, or paver transition to quote. We stock OEM ES tracks and thresholds on the truck for both series, and we carry a quality aftermarket aluminum channel for the 9000 that costs about 30% less without changing the fit. For the 7000 vinyl line, we recommend OEM only. Aftermarket vinyl channels don’t hold the corner seals the same way, and in Orange County sun they warp within two summers.

Signs Your ES Windows Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

  • Water pooling at the window base after rain. This usually means the paver slope has reversed or a drain channel pulled away from the track. In Yorba Linda and Anaheim Hills, the clay soil expands and contracts hard, and pavers settle away from the foundation edge.
  • A paver rocking or cracking at the window threshold. A rocking paver means the sand base washed out underneath. That one loose paver puts pressure on the ES window track every time a tire rolls over it.
  • The window slider binds or scrapes when opening. When pavers heave upward, they press against the bottom track and bow it. The window still closes, but with resistance. That resistance is the track bending.
  • Weeds or sand pushing up between pavers near the glass. This is base erosion. Every weed root that comes through is a channel for water to run under the pavers and against the foundation.
  • Visible gap between the paver edge and the window frame. A gap wider than a quarter inch means the edge restraint failed. Water and debris get in, freeze-thaw cycles aren’t the problem here, but ants and moisture are.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled laundry and mudroom with a bench, cubbies and painted cabinets

In Orange County, paver driveway installation runs $7,000 – $18,000 for a full two-car replacement. If you’re only replacing the section against the house where the ES window track sits, you’re looking at $2,500 – $6,000. Driveway sealing runs $250 – $700. A new ES window threshold or drain channel with paver resetting around it typically lands between $800 – $2,500 including parts and labor.

We give you a written price before work starts. That price includes the parts, the labor, haul-off of old material, base compaction, and edge restraint. It does not include hidden change orders. If we find damaged base material during demo, we tell you before we dig deeper and put the adjustment in writing. Every job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check the slope yourself. Run a hose along the paver edge and watch where water sits. If it ponds against the window track, that’s the problem to fix. You can also clean the drain channel with a screwdriver and a shop vac. That’s safe and worth doing twice a year in Orange County, especially before the rainy season.

What you shouldn’t do is pull up pavers against the window track without understanding the base. If you dig out the sand and don’t properly compact the sub-base, the pavers resettle within a month and you’re back to where you started. If the window track itself is bowed, that’s not a hammer-it-flat repair either. Aluminum track bent more than a quarter inch needs replacement, and getting the new track level against the paver line is exact work. Call us at (562) 262-2907 and we’ll give you a straight number on what it takes to square it away.
