Cover Kitchen Remodeling: The Orange County Owner’s Guide

We install and service Cover kitchen systems throughout Orange County, with full kitchen remodeling running $14,000 – $45,000 depending on scope, cabinet grade, and countertop material. Most Cover owners call us when a component has failed or the existing layout no longer works, and we keep the common failure points in stock or available within days. You’ll typically notice the problem as sagging cabinet boxes, delaminating door faces, or drawer slides that no longer hold alignment regardless of adjustment.

Bradford Remodeling Co Orange County is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with Cover, but we work on their systems weekly and know exactly which parts cross over, which don’t, and where the weak points live. Curtis Lane runs our Orange County operation, and he grew up in East Los Angeles before learning residential construction at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, so he’s seen how coastal humidity and hard water here affect kitchen hardware differently than inland climates. Straight number, clear scope, no surprises at final invoice.

Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover kitchen cabinetry and remodeling components vary by era and product line. We regularly service Cover’s frameless cabinet systems, which use a 32mm hole-spacing standard for hinge and drawer-slide mounting. That matters because older Cover face-frame cabinets from the early 2000s don’t share hardware compatibility with current frameless lines. If your cabinet boxes have a full face frame around the opening, measure the stile width before ordering any replacement door or hinge. A 1-1/2 inch stile takes a different hinge cup plate than a 3/4 inch frameless panel. Getting this wrong means ordering a second set of parts and delaying the job.

The OEM-versus-aftermarket decision on Cover cabinets is straightforward for us. Cover’s OEM hinges and drawer slides are fine, but we also work with name-brand equivalents from the same manufacturers that supply KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone lines we stock. For hinges, we use soft-close upgrades on nearly every Cover cabinet repair because the original nylon roller hardware is the first thing to wear out, especially in Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda homes where kitchens see daily use. You get a real manufacturer spec, not a guess from a bin at the big box store.

How to Identify Your Cover Kitchen Parts

Look inside the cabinet door for a small printed label on the hinge-side stile or the bottom panel. Cover labels usually include a series code and a finish code. If the label is gone, measure the door overlay: Cover doors sit with either half-inch or full overlay on the cabinet face. The difference determines which hinge you need. We walk through this by phone or over a quick photo text before our crew shows up, so we’re not standing in your kitchen sorting through parts.

Signs Your Cover Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Cabinet doors won’t stay closed or sit crooked. This is almost always worn hinge plates or stripped mounting screws in the cabinet box. The 32mm hole pattern eventually wallows out, and adjusting the hinge no longer holds. We reset the holes with threaded inserts and replace the hinge pair, not just the one that’s visibly sagging.
  • Drawers bind, stick, or fall off the track. Cover’s older roller slides were never rated for the weight of stacked plates and pots. The nylon wheels chip, the track bends, and the drawer starts chewing the cabinet face. We swap in full-extension soft-close slides rated for 100 pounds, which changes how the whole drawer feels.
  • Laminate or thermofoil is peeling at the edges. This is common in Orange County kitchens near the coast, where moisture swings from dry Santa Ana conditions to fog-heavy mornings. The substrate swells and contracts, the glue line fails, and the door face starts to curl. Once the substrate is compromised, you’re replacing the door or the entire box, not regluing an edge.
  • Cabinet boxes are pulling away from the wall. This shows up as a gap between the upper cabinets and the ceiling or the backsplash line. Cover installs relied on screws into studs, and if the installer missed a stud or the house has settled, the box torque-cracks the back panel. We pull the cabinet, remount on a ledger, and retighten to the wall, not just the neighbor cabinet.
  • The countertop is cracked or the seam has separated above the cabinet line. When a Cover cabinet box flexes or drops, the countertop above it takes the stress. A hairline crack starting at a sink corner or a seam that’s opened up means the cabinet underneath has moved. You fix the cabinet first, then address the countertop, or you’ll be fixing the countertop again in eighteen months.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

New painted shaker cabinets with an organized deep drawer

Here’s what kitchen remodeling work runs in Orange County, based on what we’ve built, not a national average.

  • Small kitchen remodel (Cover cabinet refit, fixture swaps, no layout change): $9,000 – $20,000
  • Full kitchen remodel (new Cover cabinets or major reconfiguration, countertops, backsplash): $14,000 – $45,000
  • Cabinet installation only (existing boxes retrofitted or replaced): $4,000 – $13,000
  • Countertop installation: $2,000 – $6,500
  • Backsplash installation: $800 – $2,500
  • Kitchen island installation or replacement: $3,000 – $10,000

What moves the number is cabinet grade (stock, semi-custom, or full custom), countertop material, whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical rough-ins, and how much of the existing layout we salvage. Every job gets a written price before we start, and the price does not move at the door. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers all our work for a full year: if the cabinets, countertop, or installation fail inside that window, we come back and correct it at no charge. You get that guarantee in writing at job close, along with a documented scope and a clean site.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things before you call. Open every drawer and door, mark which ones bind or sag, and photograph the underside of the drawer slides and the hinge plates. That saves us a service trip and helps us quote accurately. If a door is loose at the hinge, you can snug the screws, but if the screw spins and doesn’t tighten, stop there. The cabinet box is stripped, and continuing to turn screws chews the hole wider.

We don’t recommend pulling Cover cabinet boxes yourself. Upper cabinets are heavier than they look, and when one drops, it takes the tile backsplash or the countertop edge with it. A cabinet that’s separating from the wall needs a ledger, shims, and proper fastener pattern, not a bigger screw. If you’re in Irvine, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, or anywhere else in Orange County, call (562) 262-2907 and we’ll give you a straight assessment.
